The masterclass is an opportunity for emerging artists (actors, writers, directors) to participate in a table read of an existing script under the guidance of a director.

Sign up, turn up and enjoy discovering plays in a relaxed and open environment.

Everybody around the table takes turns in reading for characters, scene-by-scene.

For actors it is a great way of practicing sight reading skills away from the audition room, and for emerging writers and directors it is an opportunity to explore scripts that you might not otherwise have the chance to delve into with a group of artists.

The script is revealed at the start of each session. Previous scripts have included Blue Remembered Hills by Dennis Potter, Noises Off by Michael Frayn, Tectonic Theatre’s Laramie Project, and Mogadishu by Vivienne Franzmann.

Places are strictly limited so sign up fast to avoid disappointment.

To take part in this activity you must be a Young Lyric member.

To buy a membership for an under 16 year old please contact the box office on 020 8741 6850.
