For the second year running, the London Theatre Consortium (LTC), in partnership with the MOBO organisation, are looking to appoint Executive Fellowships to address the lack of diversity at executive level in UK theatre buildings.

‘We are thrilled to be launching the search for a new cohort of Executive Fellows in partnership with MOBO and the London Theatre Consortium.

Over a  6 – 12 month attachment the Fellows will gain unique access and insight into the leadership of London’s theatres. Our aim is to identify mid- career highly-skilled theatre producing, administration and management talent from diverse backgrounds, to demystify the Executive leadership of major London theatres, to mentor and support mid-career thinking, and provide pathways for emerging producing and management talent towards leadership.

It was hugely rewarding to work with our 3 inaugural fellows in 2015/16, to learn as much from them as they did from us, and to see their careers and practice develop as a result of their experience.

We are committed to achieving diversity among the leaders of arts organisations and see this programme as a key enabler of diverse talent. As well as the fellowship opportunity itself, it was also incredibly positive to be able to meet and hear from a wide range of mid-career talented individuals through the selection process itself and we look forward once again to creating and extending networks through the Fellowships programme.’

Sian Alexander – Executive Director, Lyric Hammersmith

The Fellowships will offer:

  • Attendance at LTC meetings
  • Bespoke access to and mentoring by the Executive Directors / Executive Producers across the 14 member theatres including shadowing opportunities
  • A session with Kanya King, MOBO Awards founder
  • Attendance at opening nights at member theatres
  • Attendance and introductions at key sector events
  • The fellows will form a cohort to support one another during and after the Fellowships are complete

Aimed at mid-career exceptional (or potentially exceptional) talent in existing arts roles who are primarily from diverse backgrounds and whose pathways to leadership would benefit from access to existing leaders. Applicants will have demonstrated high potential and show a high level of knowledge, commitment and ambition in their chosen field.

All candidates are invited to express their interest with a letter and CV submitted to: ruthhawkins@royalcourttheatre.com by 5pm on Friday 22 September 2017. Interviews shall take place in London on Friday 06 October 2017. For more information, including eligibility and the selection process, please click here.
