Letters to the Earth
Today we take to Lyric Square as we join forces with other arts and cultural organisations to respond to the Climate Emergency.
Letters to the Earth is the first project of the newly launched Culture Declares Emergency, where organisations including the Lyric announced their pledges.
Letters to the Earth invited people to write a letter of response to the Climate crisis. These could be letters to or from the Earth or to future or past generations. The invitation was open to all, with more than 1, 000 letters submitted by 4 year olds to great grandparents.
Young People from the Lyric will take to Lyric Square from 1pm to read these letters. They will be joined by local musician Paul Kissaun who will perform a bespoke playlist for the event.
The young people reading the letters to the Earth are: Wesley Bozonga, Madeline Charlemagne, Mateus Daniel, Jennifer Goodwin, Kane Feagan, Grace Frogley and Corey Peterson.
