Sophie was born and raised in West London, but her writing career began in Los Angeles, where she excelled in a short story course, where she went from ‘the most inexperienced writer to one of the strongest writers in the group’ (Danzy Senna). She recently completed a Masters in Writing for Stage and Broadcast Media at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Sophie has written for and produced 8Squared, a night of short plays in London, where her short play Sleepover was staged. Sleepover then transferred to Green Door Store, Brighton. Her short play, Biology Lesson was produced by Cast Iron at The Iron Duke, Brighton. The Superhero is Sophie’s first full-length play. It premiered at Brighton Open Air Theatre, transferred to The Tabard Theatre in London, then toured London schools. Sophie is currently collaborating with novelist Karen Leibriech to create a film adaptation of her novel The Letter in The Bottle. Sophie’s next endeavor with Get Lucky will be Come Inside, a play set inside the female body, which follows the body’s delicate and difficult journey through pregnancy, from conception to birth.
