Join us for an afternoon with Lemn Sissay, one of Britain’s most popular and celebrated poets.

Experience his seminal body of work with a selection of readings by Lemn himself as well as stories about his life and work.

Lemn Sissay was seventeen when he wrote his first poetry book, which he hand-sold to the miners and millworkers of Wigan. Since then, his poems have become landmarks, sculpted in granite and built from concrete, recorded on era-defining albums and declaimed in over thirty countries.

We are honoured to welcome Lemn Sissay to our stage for our inaugural festival, For the Culture: Celebrations of Blackness.

Poet Kareem Parkins-Brown, winner of the Roundhouse’s 2019 Poetry Slam Final, will give a reading ahead of Lemn Sissay.
