Christmas in the community

We invite companies to support our free ticket initiative for community groups in West London which enables children who wouldn’t normally be able to go to the theatre to see our hugely popular Christmas family shows. In the past these have included the critically acclaimed Raymond Briggs’ Father Christmas and our annual Pantomime.

The Lyric Hammersmith is a registered charity and therefore relies on the generous philanthropy of trusts and foundations, individuals and corporate supporters to continue to do the work that we do both on and off stage. We would love your support to help us to help others.

The borough of Hammersmith & Fulham is one with huge disparities of wealth and deprivation and the Lyric strives to offer those who are affected by poverty the chance to enjoy Christmas despite any financial issues they may face. We offer accessibly priced tickets and free tickets to local residents and workers. We also have a tradition of providing a delightful Christmas experience for low-income families through local charitable organisations and supported by local companies.

With your support we can offer tickets to local families to attend the hugely popular Raymond Briggs’ Father Christmas, a heart-warming show for children under 6 years old. It is a truly special experience for local families, and often a first visit to the theatre.

Feedback from one local charity who brought families in 2015:

‘As you are aware, many of our families have never attended the theatre and most would not be able to afford such an outing.  To be able to offer these tickets to our families is really special.’

The visit to the theatre for the families includes refreshments and a programme where we can acknowledge the companies who support Christmas in the Community.

2019 Christmas Community tickets at the Lyric are generously supported by Hunters Architects and Building Consultants, and Immediate Media Co..
