Local Barclays Branch

Staff Engagement & Fundraising

Our local Barclays branch have fundraised to support the Lyric’s work with young people. They have a ‘Matched Funding’ scheme where all employees can have their charitable donations doubled – our local Barclays branch and a department from head office used this to match the money raised in a sponsored walk across London for the Lyric.

They are also using the skills and knowledge of their employees to deliver workshops in Money Management, Job Hunting, and Interview Skills for the young people taking part in Lyric targeted programmes.

Global Company

Staff Christmas Family Party

For the last 3 years, a global business have hosted their staff Christmas party at the Lyric for their 3,000+ staff and their families.

The party takes over the Lyric building for a day, with the business having exclusive use of 3 performances of Father Christmas (for under 6s) and 2 performances of the Annual Pantomime (ages 6+) with food, drink, gifts and activities for all staff and their families.

This is a perfect opportunity for staff to network and celebrate whilst spending time with their loved ones during the festive season.

Local Business

Staff Mentoring

A local business financially supports the Lyric’s targeted work with young people who are not in employment, education or training. Through their interest in the programmes, their staff have become mentors to the young participants.

By having the opportunity to talk weekly, the mentoring programme helps the young participants build trust and improve their communication skills. The young people have often been let down by adults in the past, so for them to have a mentor who is prepared to talk and listen to them can have a momentous impact on their personal development. Mentors are trained and supported by the Lyric in safeguarding and to ensure they can offer the best possible guidance, and find the experience inspirational.
