For the Culture

For the Culture is a programme of work that champions and celebrates Black British artists, activists, and thinkers.

Starting with the For the Culture festival in January 2022, this ongoing work is a space for joy, reflection, conversation and resistance. For the Culture features theatre, film, music, visual art, food, discussion, and more. Through a local focus, our inclusive programme has events for everyone.

For the Culture: Celebrations of Blackness Festival returns in October 2024: an act of resistance, a space for joy, reflection, and conversation, a place to champion and celebrate Black British artists, activists, and thinkers with our community. See the line-up here and book your spot.

As part of our commitment to supporting the development of new work, Lyric Hammersmith Theatre are offering companies led by Black British Artists an exciting new opportunity as part of our For The Culture Artistic Residencies programme.
