Janine Harouni

Janine Harouni is an award-winning comedian who was selected as one of The Guardian‘s ‘Ten Comedians to Watch in 2021’. Her critically acclaimed debut Edinburgh hour ‘Stand Up with Janine Harouni (Please Remain Seated)’ was nominated for the prestigious Best Newcomer award at the Edinburgh Fringe. It sold out runs across the UK and US before being filmed as a special for Amazon Prime.

Janine stars in the new sitcom Buffering on ITV2 and can be seen in the upcoming DC Comic film The Batman (Warner Bros). She was also a writer and performer for ITV2’s hit sketch series The Emily Atack Show. Other appearances include The Russell Howard Hour (Sky Max), The Stand Up Sketch Show (ITV2), Yesterday, Today and The Day Before (Comedy Central UK), Comedians Giving Lectures (Dave), Pointless Celebrities (BBC One) and The Now Show (BBC Radio 4).

She’s also one third of the multi-award-winning sketch trio Muriel whom Chortle have hailed as “the New Smack the Pony”. Their record-breaking online videos have racked up over 100 million views and remain BBC Three’s most viewed, shared, and liked sketches to date.
