Young Lyric are hosting a meet & greet for facilitators and artists that work with young people on Wednesday 21st August. We are keen to meet innovative, collaborative, care-led freelancers, to learn about the various programmes and projects we run for our community of West London.
What is Young Lyric?
Over the past decade, the Lyric has established a national and international reputation for its work with children and young people aged 0-25. Young Lyric work with artists and young people to create innovative and exceptional performances and projects in connection to the work on our stages. We are committed to further establishing the equality of opportunity within West London for young people from all backgrounds, by accessing theatre to develop their creative, social, personal and economic potential.
What are we looking for?
- Facilitators, directors, theatre-makers with demonstrated experience, expertise, and passion for working with young people, both on a lead* and an assistant* level
- *We consider leads to be those who are highly experienced and can plan & lead the delivery of creative workshops
- *We consider assistants to be those who are interested/experienced in supporting the delivery of creative workshops, and feel confident leading warm ups and playing a proactive role in sessions
- Those with a high level of safeguarding knowledge and training, those who embed access within their practice, and those who understand and apply trauma-informed practice
- Those who are able to deliver or support the production of high quality creative work with young people from a range of different backgrounds
- We are particularly interested in hearing from those live in West London, are from, or have a connection to West London*
- *Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham, Harrow, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Kensington and Chelsea, Richmond Upon Thames, Wandsworth and Westminster
- However, if you do not meet this criteria, we highly encourage you to still attend and meet us
We will be hosting two sessions on Wednesday 21st August at the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre, at 11am – 1pm, and 6pm – 8pm. Sessions will be:
- Welcome and presentation from Young Lyric team
- Introductions from facilitators: please bring a game that you can run for the group, lasting no longer than 5 minutes
- Opportunity for networking with Young Lyric team and other facilitators after the session
