The Lyric Hammersmith Theatre is looking for ten 18-25 year olds based in West London* who are interested in Arts Leadership & Management to become our 2025 Young Lyric Associates.

The Lyric Hammersmith Theatre is looking for 18-25 year olds in West London who are interested in Theatre and Cultural Leadership to become our 2025 Young Lyric Associates.

Do you want to run your own theatre company? Looking to produce your own events? Interested in steering the future of the Lyric?

The Young Lyric Associates are a youth advisory group of 10 West Londoners, aged 18-25, who meet on the first Tuesday of every month, for one year. They will advise, influence, advocate and shape the life of the Lyric and its work with Young People in West London.

Young Lyric Associates will receive:

  • Invitations to Lyric Hammersmith Press Nights in the 2025 season
  • Rehearsal Room observations for all shows in the Lyric’s 2025 season
  • Talks and Workshops with leading arts professionals about arts leadership, strategy, programming and producing, marketing, participation, and fundraising, and more!
  • Direct employment and training opportunities on Young Lyric projects and programmes
  • Free tickets to London-wide shows, Q&As, and arts events

Group interviews will take place on Tuesday 3rd December, 19:00 – 20:00, at the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre.

What are we looking for?

  • 18-25 year olds who live in West London*
  • Those who interested in working in the theatre industry, in arts organisations or cultural charities, who are looking to learn how an organisation/building operates both strategically and day-to-day
  • We are particularly interested in hearing from those who are a part of the global majority, neuro divergent, d/Deaf, disabled, part of the LGBTQ+ community, those from low-income households, those in care, are care leavers, or are carers. This is not a definitive & complete list, you may belong to none, one, or several of these groups, and we highly encourage you to apply if you feel interested in the project.
  • Is this a paid opportunity?
    • No, this is a free participatory project for young people in West London

In order to apply, you must fulfil all of the following criteria:

  • Be 18-25 years old by January 2025
  • Currently live in one of the 10 West London Boroughs
    • *Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham, Harrow, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Kensington and Chelsea, Richmond Upon Thames, Wandsworth and Westminster
  • Be able to commit to all sessions at the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre:
    • The first Tuesday of every month, January to December 2025 at the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre
