1. How did you go about researching material for your show?
I used the internet, it’s pretty good for that kinda stuff. So I wanted to understand what absurdism was so read essays on that, then did background research on Ionesco, reading his material and watching interviews, then watched a whole bunch of provocation videos in relation to industrialisation, automation, existentialism, nihilism, artificial intelligence, dehumanisation, the dissolution of language, and meme culture, that was fun.
2. What has been the most challenging moment so far in the devising/ rehearsal process?
Figuring out different methods to experiment with a scene
3. What excites you most about working at the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre?
The people. Everyone’s dope.
4. Describe your show in 5 words or less.
Philosophical. Wacky. Subversive. Provocative. Jokes.
5. If you had to pick one album to act as the soundtrack/score for your show, which album would you choose and why?
Not an album but the twilight zone intro song. Perfect blend between ominous and creepy.
6. What is the most intriguing design element in the show that you’re working on?
The gauze serving as both a projector screen and a silhouette screen.
7. If you had to compare your show to a TV series or film what would it be?
Twilight zone.
8.What would you say to someone who is on the fence about coming to Evolution Festival 2020?
Get off the fence. It’s going to be a weird night.
