Produced by Turtle Key Arts since 2018, Joy Festival is a disability and community arts festival celebrating creativity, connection and disabled artists.

For 2026, we have reimagined the festival with the launch of the Joy Artist Development Programme, created to support emerging disabled artists to develop their creative practice and take the next steps in their professional careers.

Over the course of the programme, four emerging disabled artists have taken part in one to one mentoring, networking opportunities and professional seminars with leading disability arts organisations, alongside dedicated time to develop and rehearse their own work.

Now, they are ready to take to the stage!

Join us for the Joy Festival Scratch Nights and experience an exciting mix of work in progress performances spanning burlesque, new writing, spoken word, dance and circus.

Our artists will also be joined by local community organisations including Mencap, Action on Disability and E Unique, sharing performances developed through Joy Festival workshops in music, circus and clowning.
