Combating the climate and ecological emergency in Hammersmith & Fulham
The Lyric has a longstanding commitment to environmental sustainability and over the years we have worked hard to reduce our own carbon emissions, encouraging others through sharing our practice and also contribute to local biodiversity with our public roof garden, green sedum roof and rooftop beehives making Hammersmith Honey.
We are delighted that our local council takes this issue so seriously and last year declared a Climate Emergency, as we did at the Lyric – recognising that we have only until 2030 to make major changes to stop the runaway effects of climate change.
Our Executive Director, Sian Alexander, is one of Hammersmith & Fulham’s Climate & Ecological Emergency Commissioners, a small group of residents set up by the council to research, champion and engage fellow residents in positive change.
The Commission is asking local residents to share their views on how to help improve life for all residents in Hammersmith & Fulham, and do our bit towards combating climate change. Have your say in the Climate and Ecological Emergency Commission’s Call for Evidence survey, your opinions will help shape future decisions in the borough. Take part here.
Please share your thoughts and help us create Hammersmith & Fulham’s Vision2030.
