Dick Whittington Cast Q&A: Hollie Edwin
We caught up with our Lyric Panto cast to ask them some questions about what it’s like being in a #LyricPanto and for their top tips on being a panto performer.
First we spoke with Hollie Edwin, who plays Alice Fitzwarren in Dick Whittington. Keep an eye out this week for some more Q&As with our cast members…
- What is the most exciting thing about playing Alice in this year’s panto?
How secretly (or not so secretly) geeky Alice is!
- What’s your top tip for someone who wants to become a performer?
Find out everything you can about becoming a performer because it’s so much more than just being on stage. Do your research, read books and speak to performers of all ages at EVERY opportunity!
- If you could sum up the Lyric pantomime in 3 words, what would they be?
Silly, relevant and universal
- If you could swap roles with one of the other characters in Dick Whittington, who would it be and why?
A member of the young ensemble because they get to be in the best bits of the show and have lots of mad characters and fun costumes.
- What was the first Christmas show that you remember watching at the theatre?
A Sooty and Sweep show in London. I got asked to go up on stage (along with some other children) to join the band and I played the triangle. So Rock & Roll.
