Writer’s Callout – Scandaltown Response Project
We are seeking ten emerging writers to take part in a playwriting response to our production of Scandaltown by Mike Bartlett, directed by Rachel O’Riordan.
Writers will explore the facade of social media, the fame–hungry and London’s elite. Selected writers will each receive a free ticket to see Scandaltown on Thursday 21 April, followed by an exclusive Q&A with Kwame Owusu (Birkbeck Resident Assistant Director) and accompanied by a free writing workshop on Friday 22 April. This project will be led creatively in partnership with Bog Standard Creatives.
Selected writers will have the opportunity to submit a short piece of writing and one submission will receive financial and dramaturgical support to further develop their ideas, which will culminate in a professionally directed and recorded performance in the Lyric’s Main House.
