Lyric staff to cycle 100 miles

A challenge to help raise money for the Lyric's work with young people.

On Sunday 30 July the Prudential RideLondon will take over the streets of London and Surrey as thousands of cyclists take on the 100 mile challenge.

Among them will be our Producer Peter Holland and Assistant Visitor Service Manager Matt Dillon.

Our boys have taken on this massive challenge in order to raise money for the Lyric’s work with Young People.

The Lyric aims to nurture a new diverse generation of theatre artists including those from socially excluded and disadvantaged backgrounds.

As well as affordable classes and activities for young people aged 25 and under, we also run a range of targeted programmes which aim to make a very real impact upon the lives of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children and young people.

These programmes provide the first step onto a ladder of opportunity for those that are least likely to access mainstream creative activities.

However as a registered charity we rely on support from challenge fundraisers, Friends, Individual Supporters, Trusts and Companies who all help contribute to our work.

After months of training, miles of roads and hills, many tyres and lots of Lycra the big day is now just around the corner.

We’re really proud and thankful to Pete and Matt for taking on this fundraising challenge and wish them the best of luck. If you would like to sponsor Pete and Matt please follow the links below.

Our previous Visitor Services Manager Rowan Mead also pledged to take on this challenge for the Lyric. Unfortunately, due to an accident during training Rowan will be unable to take part in the event this year and we wish him a speedy recovery!
